I understand that Kerry County Council propose to carry out minor improvement works at Maherabeg to protect the road in question, which is a county road. I also understand that the costs involved will be met from the council's own resources (including the rate support grants) supplemented by the block grant for roads. This type of work would not qualify for a special grant from my Department.
