Vol. 358 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tax Repayment.

603.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in the payment and the reduction of the sum of £717.50 due to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer submitted a claim to the inspector on 15 April 1985, for repayment of tax which had been deducted from construction payments made to him. Following receipt of a completed return of income from the taxpayer the inspector has dealt with the claim and a refund of tax, which has been calculated by reference to his entitlement to allowances and reliefs, will be issued to the taxpayer as soon as possible. The inspector will communicate directly with the taxpayer with a view to establishing whether additional relief in respect of interest paid may be due.
