Vol. 359 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

61.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a water supply grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

A house improvement grant for the provision of a water supply could not be allowed in this case because the work was being grant-aided by the local authority under the disabled persons scheme. The applicant was so informed on 30 May 1984.

62.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

63.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a site subsidy can now be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin under the scheme for this purpose having regard to the fact that a site subsidy has been paid in other cases in the immediate vicinity.

I would refer the Deputy to my replies to Questions Nos. 341 and 342 of 16 October, last. Dublin County Council have not so far been able to submit information that might show that the conditions governing the payment of site subsidy were fulfilled in relation to individual phases or sections of a number of schemes, including Bawnogue A and B which, it is understood, includes the estate referred to.

64.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a house improvement grant application will be reconsidered for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the urgent need to carry out the works.

This application has been rejected because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed on 16 August 1983.

65.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment when the inspection of a new house will be carried out with a view to the payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
