Vol. 359 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

98.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will now arrange for a tax refund to issue to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 on whose behalf Deputy Mitchell has previously made representations.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes will not be in a position to deal with the taxpayer's claims for repayment of C45 tax deducted until such time as he receives details of his total assessable income for the appropriate years. This information was last requested from the taxpayer's agents on 15 November 1984. As there has been no response, reminders will now be issued by the inspector to both the taxpayer and his agent.

99.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, on the basis of the information available to the inspector of taxes, there is no refund due to the taxpayer. A PAYE balancing statement giving full details of his liability for 1984-85 was issued to the taxpayer on 5 June 1985.

asked the Minister for Finance when an income tax refund due to a person (details supplied) in County Louth will be paid.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes who deals with the taxpayer's income tax affairs has been unable to trace receipt of a repayment claim in this case. In the circumstances the inspector will communicate directly with the taxpayer in the matter.
