Vol. 359 No. 9

Written Answers. - Income Tax Liability.

101.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason the balancing statement issued to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 refers to employment which the person never took up; and if he will now give this person's correct employment record.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that according to their records the taxpayer has been in continuous employment with the same employer since August 1982. The information available to the inspector of taxes indicates that the taxpayer had three other employments prior to August 1982. On 7 June 1985, reviews of the taxpayer's liabilities for the years 1982-83, 1983-84 and 1984-85 were carried out and PAYE balancing statements giving full details of the reviews were issued to him. The details incorporated in the reviews were based on information supplied by the relevant employers. The inspector will now communicate directly with the taxpayer with a view to clarifying the position.
