asked the Minister for Labour if he will give details of the number of persons who have been employed since the inception of the two and a half day working week incentive scheme in the Dublin region and in the rest of the country.

At present there are 510 people working on 59 projects organised under the social employment scheme throughout the country. In the Dublin region, there are 11 projects in operation employing 74 people while the remaining 436 people are employed on 48 projects at various locations in the rest of the country. Approval has been given for a further 900 projects with an employment potential of approximately 3,000 people.
