(Limerick West) asked the Taoiseach if allowances are made for (a) interest payments, (b) building depreciation and (c) that part of output and expenses associated with part time farmers; and if he will state the estimated average income of full time farmers for the years 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984.
It is assumed that the question relates to the estimates of output and of income arising in agriculture prepared by the CSO. These estimates are prepared at a macro-economic level, based on aggregate disposals and materials used, etc., and cover all agricultural activity. Depreciation deductions are not made in respect of farm buildings. The income estimates relate to income arising in agriculture and no deductions are made, therefore, for interest on borrowed capital. Separate estimates for full time and part time farmers are not available.
