Vol. 360 No. 5

Written Answers. - Greenpark Estate (Dublin) Access Road.

37.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the highly dangerous and unofficial access route which has been used for some time from Greenhills Road, County Dublin, into the adjoining Greenpark Estate; in view of this danger, if funds can now be made available to Dublin County Council out of the roads expenditure projected in Building on Reality 1985-87 to enable Dublin County Council to provide the normal extension of the distributor road from the estate to the Greenhills Road, plans for which exist in Dublin County Council; and when approval can be given.

The question of the adequacy of the road network in this area is primarily a matter for the road authority, Dublin County Council. If it is proposed to carry out road works in the area, the cost involved should normally be financed from the council's own resources, supplemented by the block grant for roads which is paid annually by my Department.
