asked the Minister for Agriculture when he will announce the revised western package scheme.

Discussions will take place shortly with the EC Commission on the review of the western package which is due to commence this year. Any revisions of the package will be announced when the review is completed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the amount paid to date under the western package for the calf-to-beef scheme; and the number of herd owners who qualified.

At 30 June 1985, a sum of £2,141 had been paid to five herdowners under the calf-to-beef interest subsidy scheme element of the western package.
