As the Deputy will be aware there are a number of grades of staff employed by the Blood Transfusion Service Board, which are represented by various trade unions and, at any time, a number of issues may be under negotiation. It is not possible, therefore, to make a statement in relation to any specific negotiations which might be in progress. In any event, my general approach is that, as Minister for Health, it is not appropriate for me to make statements about matters which are the subject of negotiation between trade unions and managements of health agencies.
