Vol. 361 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

80.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a grant under the western drainage scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

When notification is received from the applicant that the approved work has been completed an inspection will be carried out and if the position is satisfactory payment of the grant will be made.

81.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a grant for dry reclamation will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The grant has been paid in this case.

82.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when cattle headage payments and suckler cow grants will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will explain the delay in regard to this year's and last year's payments.

The person named has been paid 1984 calf premium and calved heifer grants.

He was not eligible, however, for the 1984 cattle headage scheme as his off-farm income for tax year ended 5 April 1984 exceeded £3,500. His eligibility for cattle headage grants paid to him for 1982 is being reviewed and the 1984 suckler cow grants are being withheld pending the outcome of the review as the question of a refund may arise. Following completion of the review his application under the 1985 cattle headage, suckler cow and calf premium schemes will be considered.
