My Department has agreed in principle to grant aid the provision of an extension to the Presentation Convent national school, Kilcock, County Kildare. A sketch scheme for the project is expected to be available in the near future, after which my Department's inspectorate will assess it from an educational viewpoint. Negotiations with the chairman of the school's board of management on the matter of the local contribution will follow. The way will then be clear for the preparation of contract documents. It is not possible at this stage to indicate a timetable for completion of the project.
