Vol. 361 No. 6

Written Answers. - Milk Cessation Scheme.

101.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if it is his intention to introduce a milk cessation scheme to counter the scheme being introduced by the European Commission in the next marketing year.

The possibility of setting up a further milk cessation scheme to the one I introduced last year is being considered by the co-operative organisations in consultation with my Department. However, as no further Exchequer funds are available for this purpose any such scheme would have to be financed by the industry.
