Vol. 361 No. 7

Written Answers. - House Improvement Grant Regulations.

48.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he proposes to change the regulation to home improvement grants in order to facilitate applicants who are obliged to carry out essential repairs within the ten year waiting period.

In conjunction with the introduction of the revised scheme of house improvements grants, a number of relaxations of the waiting period requirements has been made including the general reduction from ten years to seven years in the waiting period from the date of payment of a previous house improvement grant to the commencement of work under the revised scheme. In the case of an applicant proposing to carry out repairs to his house, the reduced waiting period of seven years runs from the date of payment of a previous grant for similar type works.
