Vol. 361 No. 9

Written Answers. - Group Water Scheme Grants.

68.

asked the Minister for the Environment the amounts of money allocated by his Department each year for the past ten years in each local authority for group water schemes.

Compilation of the information requested would require a disproportionate amount of staff time, since allocations are not made to local authorities or by reference to local authority areas in respect of group water schemes. Each group scheme is a private development which is examined individually in my Department and for which State grants are allocated directly by the Department as appropriate, to the trustees of the scheme, not to the local authorities. In addition, group schemes may cross county boundaries.
