(a) The National Manpower Service register shows that at 31 December 1984 there were 89,900 job seekers aged under 25. In 1985 the latest month for which figures are available is July. At 31 July 1985, 141,300 registered job seekers were under 25 years of age.

(b) In 1984 53,860 persons under 25 years, applied for AnCO courses. In January to September 1985 a total of 41,084 persons under 25 applied for AnCO courses.

(c) In 1984 a total of 33,407 participated in AnCO courses. In January to September 1985 a total of 26,211 participated in AnCO courses.

(d) The National Manpower Service places approximately 2,000 persons in employment each month. No breakdown is kept on an over 25-under 25 basis. The placement figure has remained fairly constant despite increased difficulties in the employment market.
