Vol. 362 No. 1

Written Answers. - Pig Breeding Order.

33.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his Department will consider any compensatory measures for those farmers who will be forced to retire from pig breeding resulting from the Diseases of Animals (Feeding and Use of Swill) Order, 1985, as many farmers involved in a moderate way with this activity will be unable to meet the capital costs involved in the implementation of the above order.

There are no funds at my disposal which would enable me to introduce compensatory measures for farmers who might be affected by the provisions of the Diseases of Animals (Feeding and Use of Swill), Order, 1985.
