The present position regarding the proposed unit at Newcastle, County Wicklow is that the County Wicklow Association for the Mentally Handicapped Limited have sought substantial funding from my Department for this unit. The question of allocating funds for the provision of the Newcastle day centre will be considered as sympathetically as possible in the light of the capital allocation available to me in 1986.
