Vol. 362 No. 5

Written Answers. - Rate Relief Grant.

54.

asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount of rate relief grant given to Wexford Corporation in 1984; and the amount of a shortfall this represented in revenue, if all rates were still applicable.

The estimated gross revenue accruing to Wexford Corporation of rates were leviable on domestic dwellings, the domestic element of mixed hereditaments, secondary schools, community halls and farm outbuildings in 1984 would of course depend on the rate in the £ applicable in those circumstances. On the basis of the rate struck in respect of 1984, however, the amount would have been £549,721. The grant in relief of rates on those premises amounted to £459,887.
