Vol. 362 No. 6

Written Answers. - Ringsend (Dublin) Health Centre Dentist.

32.

asked the Minister for Health when a replacement dentist will be assigned to Ringsend health centre to deal with the huge backlog which has built up over the past number of weeks including those in need of emergency treatment, the seven national schools and eligible medical card holders.

The dentist assigned to the Ringsend health centre has been on sick leave for a number of weeks and is not expected to be fit to resume work for some time. In the meantime the health board have been providing a replacement service to the best extent that their limited dental manpower resources will permit. At present the health board are endeavouring to recruit a suitable full time locum dentist to man the Ringsend post until such time as the permanent dentist is fit to resume duty.
