Vol. 362 No. 10

Written Answers. - Dublin Housing Needs.

25.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has made an assessment concerning the supply of and demand for houses in the Dublin region.

The assessment of housing needs, which is based on an analysis of the supply of and demand for housing in an area is a function of the housing authority for the area under section 53 of the Housing Act, 1966. The most recent assessments were carried out in respect of the five year period to 31 March 1985. The next assessments will be carried out under the wider provisions of section 8 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 1985, when it is enacted.
