Assistance under the remedial works scheme operated by my Department is available in respect of the improvement of certain rented local authority houses which are suffering from serious structural defects. Houses purchased from local authorities may be included in an improvement scheme in conjunction with rented houses only where their inclusion is necessary to give an acceptable result to the scheme as a whole. These conditions do not apply in the case of the Seagrange scheme and I will be so informing Dublin Cororation.
