Vol. 362 No. 10

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

39.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cavan has not received a home improvement grant.

The application in this case was in respect of the building of a bathroom and an extra bedroom and the carrying out of necessary repairs to the basic fabric of the house. However, grants could not be allowed in respect of any of these items, as the waiting periods specified in the Housing (Improvement Grant) Regulations, 1983, had not elapsed since the payment of a previous grant in March 1981. A subsequent application for a sewerage grant had also to be refused as the works had been completed before the necessary inspection took place.
