I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his Question No. 582 of 21 May 1985 which contained details of the local authority service charges collections for 1983 and 1984. The collection figures up to 30 September 1985 (the latest full return available) are listed in the following tabular statement. These figures relate to domestic water charges in urban areas, domestic refuse and sewerage charges and, in some cases, library charges, in so far as the figures have been separately supplied in local authority returns. It is estimated that at 30 September 1985, the amount outstanding expressed as a percentage of the total amount due in respect of the years 1983 to 1985 was 51 per cent.
