Vol. 363 No. 4

Written Answers. - Rate Support Grants.

76.

asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of rate support grants allocated to each local authority for 1986; the amount paid in each case in 1985; and the percentage change in each case.

Details of the 1985 rate support grant payments and 1986 allocations for county councils are listed in reply to Parliamentary Question No. 108 of 22 January 1986. The remaining information requested by the Deputy is contained in the following tabular statement. In regard to the figures for the two years and the percentage change, it must be borne in mind that the figures are not directly comparable; as indicated in the footnote, the 1986 estimated figures have been reduced to allow for the removal with effect from January 1986 from local authorities of liability for payments in respect of supplementary welfare allowances.
