Vol. 363 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

66.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the failure to issue details of tax allowances to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick, despite the fact that he has forwarded all relevant information to the inspector of taxes in July 1985 to which he received no reply; if he will have the matter investigated; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that an amended certificate of tax-free allowances for the current year 1985-86, based on the taxpayer's most recently completed return of income, was issued to him on 15 May 1985.

The inspector of taxes who deals with the taxpayer's affairs has no record of the receipt of correspondence from the taxpayer in July 1985. In the circumstances the taxpayer may wish to contact the inspector in the matter.
