Vol. 363 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Roscommon School.

149.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in proceeding with the construction of a new school (details supplied) in County Roscommon; if she will direct that this project commence immediately; and if she is aware of the serious situation pending the necessary construction of this school.

Following consideration of various schemes for the provision of additional accommodation at the school referred to by the Deputy submitted by the architects commissioned by the school authorities, my Department agreed in August 1985 that a new school building should be provided. A revised sketch scheme which has recently been received by my Department is being examined and the outcome will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible. I am not in a position to say at this stage when building works may commence.
