It is not possible to assist this project under the terms of the capital grant scheme operated by my Department as grant aid is available only towards the costs of work executed by building contract after submission of a grant application.
In this particular case, the contract element of the work was completed prior to grant application. The balance of the work which was carried out under AnCO's Community Youth Training Programme and by voluntary labour is ineligible for assistance under the scheme. The applicant group was informed of the decision on 31 May 1985.
