The bridge in question forms part of the network of regional roads. Accordingly, primary responsibility for assessing the need for a new bridge, for preparing proposals for a replacement bridge, if required, and for financing the works rests with Clare County Council. Proposals in regard to the bridge have not been received in my Department.
