Vol. 363 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Galway Appeal Applications.

101.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare (a) the number of appeals that are awaiting oral hearings in County Galway; and (b) the number of cases waiting six months or longer; and when it is proposed to deal with these cases.

There are 75 appeal applications in respect of various services listed for oral hearing in County Galway and of these seven are more than six months old.

Additional appeals officers have been assigned to deal with the backlog of appeal applications and progress is being made in reducing the number of outstanding cases. The position is being kept under constant review.
