Vol. 363 No. 13

Written Answers. - Wildlife Act, 1976.

31.

asked the Minister for Fisheries, Forestry and Tourism if he will be amending the 1976 Wildlife Act, as requested by the regional game council.

I presume the Deputy is referring to discussions which were held some time ago between representatives of the National Association of Regional Game Councils and officials of my Department on amendments suggested by them to the Wildlife Act, 1976. It is my intention to introduce legislation in order to effect certain desirable amendments to the Act and work on it is already in progress in my Department. I am not in a position to say at this stage when the amending Bill will be ready for introduction. Every effort will be made to do so as quickly as possible.
