The grant of a superannuation award is a matter for the employing authority in the first instance in accordance with the local authority superannuation code subject to a person's right of appeal to the Minister. A decision by the Eastern Health Board to return the person's superannuation contribution was made in December 1985 and an appeal against such decision is currently under examination in my Department and will be determined at an early date.
