Vol. 364 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) By-Pass

41.

asked the Minister for the Environment if plans have been approved for the next stage of the Tallaght, County Dublin by-pass section from Killinarden, Tallaght to Embankment, Saggart, County Dublin and, if so, if finance will be made available to have this work done.

Last year, Dublin County Council submitted outline proposals to my Department for a westerly extension of the N81 Tallaght by-pass at Jobstown. Following discussions, the local authority agreed to redesign certain aspects of the scheme. When the revised proposals are received in the Department, they will be considered without delay. The road grant commitments for 1986 notified to Dublin County Council include a sum of £500,000 for a westerly extension of the Tallaght by-pass. The commitment is subject to the submission of an acceptable scheme of work and is without prejudice to the outcome of any statutory procedures that may arise.
