Vol. 364 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ballymount (Dublin) Motorway Scheme.

39.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the urgent need for a decision on the application by Dublin County Council for a scheme involving the closing of Ballymount Road and the provision of an interchange with links to Tree Park Road and Ballymount Road upper and for other improvements in the Kingswood Heights area of Ballymount, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I presume the Deputy's question relates to the Dublin County Council (Western Parkway, Tallaght Road-Galway Road) motorway scheme 1985 which provides, inter alia, for the works mentioned. I am aware of the urgency involved. The scheme was the subject of a public local inquiry on 25 November 1985 and I expect to be in a position to reach a decision on it within the next few weeks.
