I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are 99 neighbourhood watch schemes in operation in the Dublin metropolitan area and 16 throughout the rest of the country. A further 70 schemes are in the process of being organised, 50 in the Dublin metropolitan area and 20 throughout the rest of the country.
