A programme for the provision of PE halls at community and other second level schools has been approved for 1986. The number of halls which may be allowed to go to tender in any year depends on the availability of capital and the Department's other commitments and priorities. It was not found possible to include St. Mac Dara's community college, Willington, in the 1986 programme.
I will be reviewing the position in the autumn as to whether it will be possible to approve grants for further PE halls on which construction might commence in 1987. Willington's case will be considered in this review.
