Vol. 364 No. 5

Written Answers. - Mallow (Cork) Road Improvement Scheme.

57.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay on the compulsory purchase order for land on the new Mallow Road, between Cork and Rathduff via Blarney and Killeens, and when it is expected that work will commence on that section of the new road.

There has been no avoidable delay in the processing of the Cork County Council (Construction and Improvement of Cork/Mallow Road and Cork/Blarney Road) Compulsory Purchase Order No. 1 1984. I am not yet in a position to give my decision on the order but I will do so at the earliest possible date. In view of my semi-judicial function in the matter, it would not be appropriate for me to comment on the possible commencement date of the road improvement scheme.
