An application for a house improvement grant has not been received from the person named. However on the strength of the information provided by the Deputy, a repairs grant could not be allowed as contrary to a condition of the scheme a period of seven years has not elapsed since the payment of a previous reconstruction grant in August 1981.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for a house inspection in respect of an application for a new house grant; and if he will expedite immediate payment of the grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.
A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and all the conditions of the grants scheme have been fulfilled. A further inspection will be carried out within the next two weeks.
