Vol. 364 No. 8

Written Answers. - Payment for Westmeath Land.

42.

asked the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment for land (details supplied) in County Westmeath which was bought by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Completion of the sale of these lands to my Department was held up over the question of possible repayment by the vendor to the Department of Agriculture of a grant made by that Department for the improvement of the lands. However, this question has now been resolved. The sale is nearing completion and it is expected that the purchase money will be paid to the vendor's solicitor shortly.
