asked the Minister for Health if a system of tendering operates for the supply of hearing aids to eligible persons.

Hearing aids are provided for eligible persons through the National Rehabilitation Board. The National Rehabilitation Board do not invite tenders for the supply of hearing aids through public advertisement. When the board wish to alter their range of hearing aids or when it becomes aware of the availability of new or more up to date models, they approach manufactures who are invited to submit samples for the board's consideration.
