Vol. 364 No. 10

Written Answers. - Remission of Penalties.

186.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of representations made by Deputy Keating's office in relation to summonses that have been issued to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 for a car which was parked outside his house; and the present situation on the matter.

It would be contrary to long-established practice and, I am satisfied, inappropriate for me as Minister for Justice to deal at Question Time with individual petitions for the remission or mitigation of penalties. The petition lodged by the Deputy on behalf of the individual concerned is being processed. When the matter is finalised I will convey my decision to the Deputy.
