Vol. 364 No. 10

Written Answers. - Driving Test Refusal.

64.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Limerick who was called for a driving test on 21 January 1986 at 9.30 a.m. in Newcastle West was refused a test when she presented herself; and if he will make further arrangements for another test for her as soon as possible.

The vehicle provided for the driving test by the applicant in question did not display a front identification mark (number plate). As such an omission is in breach of the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations, 1982, the driver tester properly refused to carry out the test. The person concerned must now forward a completed application form together with the appropriate fee to my Department. A further appointment for a driving test will then be made without delay.
