Vol. 364 No. 11

Written Answers. - Durrow (Laois) Pedestrian Crossing.

42.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will grant approval to Laois County Council for the provision of a pedestrian control light at the Square, Durrow.

In the first instance, the provision of pedestrian crossing signals is a matter for the road authority concerned acting at the request of, or with the consent of, the Garda Commissioner. My Department have not received a formal proposal from the authority in this matter. Consequently, the question of my approval does not arise at this stage.
