A proposal to extend the 30 mph speed limit on national secondary road N 56 at Gortahork is included in proposals submitted by Donegal County Council to my Department for a general revision of speed limits in the county as a whole. The proposals have been the subject of correspondence with the council. In particular, the council were requested on 25 February to clarify a small number of points. A reply was received from the council yesterday. In the light of that reply, I expect to be in a position later this month to make the necessary regulations to give effect to the proposals.
