Vol. 365 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

30.

asked the Minister for the Environment the date of the previous payment of a grant on a house (details supplied) in County Wexford; and the effect this will have on any potential waiting period for a house improvement grant application for its owner.

A grant for repairs to the fabric of the house was paid in March 1984. A period of seven years must have elapsed from the date of payment of the previous grant before a grant under the 1985 scheme can be given for further repairs to the house.

31.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £5,000 tenant-purchaser grant will issue to persons (details supplied) in Dublin 13; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Applications for the £5,000 grant are handled entirely by the appropriate local authority up to the stage of certification for payment. A certificate from the local authority confirming that this applicant has complied with all the conditions for payment of the grant has not yet been received by the Department.

32.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the inordinate delay in a new house grant inspection for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and when this inspection will be carried out.

There has been no avoidable delay in dealing with this case. The inspection will be carried within the next two weeks.

33.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath.

On receipt of notification of completion of outstanding works, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant.

34.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person details supplied in County Longford.

A new house grant in respect of the house in question cannot be paid as, contrary to a condition of eligibility for the grant, the applicant had previously purchased or built a house for his occupation.
