Vol. 365 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

67.

asked the Minister for the Environment the cause of the delay in paying a £5,000 surrender grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The grant will be paid when the local authority concerned confirms that the applicant's rent account was up to date and free of arrears at the time of surrendering the local authority house.

68.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have an early inspection carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a housing grant from the person named.

69.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £5,000 grant under the tenant/purchaser scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Applications for the £5,000 grant are handled entirely by the appropriate local authority up to the stage of certification for payment. A certificate by the local authority confirming that this applicant has complied with all the conditions for payment of the grant has not yet been received in the Department.
