asked the Minister for Defence the number of medical officers in the Permanent Defence Force; and where they are based.

There are 27 medical officers in the Permanent Defence Force. Nine are serving in Dublin, six in the Curragh, five in Cork, two in Athlone and one each in Galway and Limerick. One officer is on special study leave. Two officers are serving with the United Nations in Lebanon.
