Vol. 365 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

58.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when he will pay a sheep subsidy in respect of 130 sheep to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The person named has applied for 1985 ewe premium on 24 ewes and not on the number stated. His application is being processed at present and if found in order, will be paid with other applications received when premium payments commence in July 1986.

59.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford did not received the full payment of a calf subsidy, despite the fact that he had no choice but to sell the animals before the prescribed date.

Under EC rules, calves must survive to six months of age in order to qualify for a calf premium. The EC allows no exception to the rules and the 30 calves under six months of age which were slaughtered under the disease eradication programme in the case of the person named were not, therefore, eligible for premia.

60.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford did not receive payment of a depopulation grant.

The person named has received his full entitlement of £28,605 under the eradication scheme that is, reactor and depopulation grants in September 1985 and stockreplacement grants in March 1986.
