Vol. 365 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin School Gymnasium.

3.

asked the Minister for Education regarding his Department's proposal to provide a gymnasium at a community school (details supplied) in Dublin 13, the size of the building which is to be built; when the building programme will commence; and the proposed completion date.

A physical education hall 394m² plus changing rooms and showers of 104m² has been approved for the school to which the Deputy refers. It is not possible at this stage to state precisely when the building programme will commence.

The hall will be built to a standard plan prepared by the Department's consultants. Additional planning required in connection with the development of the site and site services is proceeding and tender documentation is presently in the course of preparation.'

It is likely to be some months before construction of the hall, which should take approximately six months to complete, can be commenced.
