Vol. 366 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ballymore Eustace (Kildare) School.

154.

asked the Minister for Education the current position with regard to the provision of an extension and facilities at Ballymore Eustace national school; the time scale for the implementation of the work; and the stages still to be processed before a contract is given.

Following approval of the sketch scheme for the proposed extension to Ballymore Eustace national school, County Kildare, which had been prepared by the Office of Public Works, the school authorities indicated that they wished to appoint their own architect. In March 1986 the chairman of the board of management was informed that there would be no objection to such appointment for preparation of working drawings on the basis of the approved plan. My Department are at present awaiting confirmation from the chairman that this arrangement is acceptable. The remaining stages of planning prior to placement of contract would be preparation of contract documents and invitation of tenders. I am not in a position to indicate a time scale for these stages.
